A big rescue operation is underway off the coast of Sweden after a automotive ferry with 300 folks on board caught fireplace.
Maritime authorities say that three helicopters and 7 ships had been dispatched to the scene to start evacuating these on board the vessel.
“There’s a fireplace on the automotive deck,” Jonas Franzen, a spokesperson for the Swedish maritime administration, instructed AFP.
Swedish media report that the hearth broke out on board the Stena Scandica ship on Monday afternoon, whereas it was crusing north of the island of Gotland.
“The fireplace is below management,” one other maritime spokeswoman, Lisa Mjorning, instructed AFP.
No accidents have to this point been reported and the reason for the blaze was not but identified.
